Lindsey Kirkhill (46) is a lecturer in social work at the Northern College. A member of the Scottish Labour Party since her teens, Lindsey spent her childhood and early 20's in Aberdeen.
Lindsey canvassed for her stepfather John Smith when he was a Labour councillor in Torry and then Lord Provost of Aberdeen. She has a great interest in education and social work and was Senior Operational Manager for Children's Services in an Inner London Borough. Ms Kirkhill returned to the North East in 1990 when she quickly became active again in Scottish national and local politics.

When Gordon candidates were quizzed over the BSE crisis, Lindsey Kirkhill said "Suggestions were made by the current Government over the BSE crisis."
