Learning On-Line

5 - 14 Information Technology

After the Christmas holidays, during the spring term of 1997-98,  S1 and S2 pupils will be embarking on a new unit of work, directly related to 5-14 Information Technology (a National set of Guidelines).

The unit is concerned with knowledge and understanding of Information Technology and has four levels:-

  • Level A - should be achieved by pupils in P1 -P3

  • Level B/C - should be achieved by pupils in P4 -P6

  • Level D/CE- should be achieved by pupils in P7 -S2

  • Beyond Level E - is for high fliers and includes some Standard Grade work.

Before the unit starts, pupils will be tested to establish the level they should start at.  They will then be given a period of time to work towards improving that level.
Each unit of work consists of:-
completing a basic guide using information provided on our Intranet;
doing some exercises related to the information in their basic guide
sitting and end of level test.

If they pass the test, they can continue with the next level up.
