British company Geofox, set up by industry veterans George Grey and Andy Davis, today announced its first product, the Geofox-One compact computer. Designed to be the ideal tool for mobile professionals, Geofox-One is the size of a slim paperback book and includes a comprehensive set of features - including email, fax services and Internet access - at a highly affordable price.

Geofox-One is aimed at executives who may already have a PC or laptop PC, but want something small and light to carry around. Geofox-One also comes with full-featured word processing and spreadsheet applications and a complete set of personal organiser features, such as diary, database address book, alarm, world clock and calculator. Other features include a digital voice recorder, UK and USA route planners with maps, chess game and crossword solver. Geofox-One runs Psion Software’s EPOC32 operating system, so a wide variety of third party applications are available.

Compatibility

Geofox-One is Windows compatible, allowing the user to transfer files between the Geofox and a PC. The word processor and spreadsheet provided are fully compatible with Microsoft Word and Excel. With more storage capacity than any other handheld, users are able to work longer whilst on the move and upload files to the PC later.

Ergonomic Design

Geofox-One has been designed to be particularly easy and comfortable to use. Although small and light - the slimmest product on the market - it has a larger screen and keyboard than any handheld device, making it easier to type and read text. Geofox-One uses an integrated mouse pad, removing the need for a pen.

Communications

The bundled software includes Internet email, fax services and web browser, ready to run straight out of the box with straightforward set-up and connection. Users can access their personal or corporate email account.
